Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) is a cluster of sand coloured residential skyscrapers spread along a golden beachfront. This unique community offers a great choice of apartments to buy or rent all enjoying amazing views of Dubai and surrounded by landscaped plazas, fountains and swimming pools. Jumeirah Beach Residence is also home to The Walk and the newly built Beach Walk, a bustling open air complex offering exclusive shopping, hotels, restaurants, a cinema and cool market stalls lining the beaches walkway.
JBR is situated right next to Dubai Marina and can be accessed on all sides from Sheikh Zayed Road. Traffic congestion can be an issue in the area especially at peak times – however a new tram line is currently under construction that will pass right by JBR which should ease this problem. Currently the nearest metro stations are Dubai Marina and Jumeirah Lake Towers – both are about ten minutes walk across the marina bridges.
Who lives here?
JBR is generally a young and vibrant community and is popular with 20-something single people and young families. The buildings are particularly popular with western expats wanting to take advantage of the Dubai shopping, beach and sea lifestyle.
Amenities & Facilities
There is a wide variety of shops and grocers right across JBR, although the nearest mall located on The Walk is small and is only really useful for groceries and banks. Just ten minutes away on foot however is Marina Mall which boasts a wide range of designer outlets – plus a large Waitrose supermarket. JBR’s facilities include attractive swimming pools, high-tech gymnasiums, plus plenty of beauty salons and service centres (e.g. Du). There are also nice hotels dotted around (Sofitel, Hilton, Sheraton) and plenty of top restaurants and bars and a cinema, with screens both indoor and out.
The apartments in JBR are made up of studio, 1, 2, 3 and 4 bedroom apartments that are attractive, spacious and competitively priced. All the JBR buildings look pretty much the same and feature the same facilities – finishing is of a good standard throughout.
- Well priced with plenty of apartments to choose from
- The community is a glamorous world all of its own with sea, beach, pools, bars and a cafe culture all on your doorstep
- As mentioned traffic here can be a nightmare; this is probably the main complaint
- Also not everyone will enjoy living in such imposing towers
