Dubai is an urban wonderland with many of its communities like self-contained mini-cities within the bigger metropolis. Each have their own individual vibe and places to hang out – we explore the top 4.

Downtown Dubai:
Those looking at moving to Downtown Dubai should be aware of the benefits of the area and some of the things to consider before setting up home here.
Downtown Dubai is the city’s busy tourism hub, home to the towering Burj Khalifa skyscraper, with its observation deck, and the dancing Dubai Fountain, where crowds gather to watch music and light shows. The sprawling Dubai Mall offers global fashion brands and casual eateries, while Emaar Boulevard has a chic cafe scene. The Dubai Opera hosts dance, opera and musicals in a striking dhow-shaped building.
“Home to the landmark that is the Burj Khalifa, you can expect the best from Downtown and you still won’t be disappointed. Fill your day with shopping in The Dubai Mall, stop off at the Aquarium with the kids and then swing by the Dubai Opera for a show and dinner at the up-and-coming Kizmet, and make sure you don’t miss the Fountain show.”

City Walk:
What’s Dubai City Walk? City Walk is a mixed-use development to the northwest of Downtown Dubai. It boasts a good selection of shops, many places to eat and drink, a cinema, attractions, and residential apartments. Cafes and restaurants in an outdoor retail complex with a tree-lined esplanade and central fountain.
Dubai is never short of swanky establishments, least of all in City Walk. This area is definitely one for individuals who like to have options. If decision making is not your strong suit, you may be in trouble! Cocoa Kitchen is for the chocoholics, with chocolate infused food, or if you have less of a sweet tooth, Eggspectation won’t disappoint. Check out Roxy Cinemas, explore Green Planet or grab dinner in the newly opened La Ville Hotel & Suites. Want to see it in the flesh?

Dubai Marina:
Dubai Marina is an affluent residential neighborhood known for The Beach at JBR, a leisure complex with al fresco dining and sandy stretches to relax on. Smart cafes and pop-up craft markets line waterside promenade Dubai Marina Walk, while Dubai Marina Mall is packed with chain and luxury fashion brands. Upscale yachts cruise through the large man-made marina, where activities range from jet-skiing to skydiving.
By day and night, the Marina offers numerous activities and fantastic eateries. One of our favorite features is the Marina Zip Line. Reaching speeds of 80 kms per hour, you’ll screech your way from JBR and finish at Dubai Marina Mall. The modest mall also deserves a shoutout, with its excellent shopping, cinema experience and connection to the well-known Pier 7, home to Mama Zonia, the winner of Time Out 2019 casual dining newcomer award.
